Give yourself up to the sensual pleasures of authentic Sicilian recipes at Olivelli’s warm-hearted Store Street restaurant (off Tottenham Court Road)

London Visitors Magazine 2012

Mr C and I have seen a fair few sights in our restaurant-reviewing days but we have never seen a starter more appetising-looking than Olivelli's antipasto all'Italiana. It doesn't take us long to polish off the lot… Like desirable dinner party guests, each of these components both triumphs solo and makes its sidekicks look good, too.

…Thanks to its commitment to sourcing quality ingredients from Italy, without ramping up its prices accordingly, Olivelli is bellissima. The restaurant has the sleekly inoffensive good looks (and relaxed atmosphere) of Pizza Express, but the food is in another league. Just don't forget to skip lunch before coming, especially if you want to start in style...

Time Out Eating and Drinking 2009 Guide

Paradiso has enough individuality and charm to knock the socks off most of its rivals. It has the atmosphere of a traditional trattoria yet it's the food that's really authentic. Appealing seafood and meat mains prove there's more to cheap Italian fare than pizza and pasta - though these are memorable too, with options going beyond the reliable favourites.

The London restaurateur who helped build the Pizza Express brand back in the 80s has just opened his Sicilian caffè - at Shad Thames. He launched the first at Highgate last summer and positive word of mouth soon put it on the map. Typical treats include irresistible savouries and patisserie and of course Paradiso's ice cream is the real thing, too, made to master chef Terranova's own recipe.
